Katya Spafford, M.S., OTR/L, is a licensed occupational therapist, certified in level I and II Hippotherapy courses. A competitive equestrian for 15 years and USDF bronze medalist, her love for horses, dogs and children, enables Katya to combine her passion and interests to work as a therapist helping children with special needs. Katya runs the Hippotherapy program for The Lionheart School where the kids participate three times a week. Katya also runs her own business Tails4Therapy providing private Hippotherapy sessions. She also trains and competes on her horse Eiress who was bred and born at Lioncrest Farms.
Kelsey joined the Lioncrest Farms team in 2015. She currently is our barn manager and lives adjacent to the farm providing excellent care to our horses. Kelsey has a talent working with horses and training to take them to the next level. Kelsey worked for rider and breeder Ashley Giles and two-time Olympian Julie Richards gaining knowledge and bringing it to Lioncrest Farms. She also competed with The Eventing Team at UGA during 2012-2014. She currently trains and competes on her horse Reign in Preliminary Eventing.
Debbie is a certified PATH international registered therapeutic instructor since 1999. She was an active Special Olympics equestrian coach, helping train her special needs son for the Georgia equestrian team. Currently, Debbie has been assisting and providing instructional support with The Lionheart School's therapeutic riding program since 2000. She also has been the assistant barn manager for the past 5 years; organizing vet, chiropractic, farrier scheduling, and contacting boarders when needed. Debbie has a 13 year old Oldenburg named Feiner Meister which she enjoys training in dressage and hopes to get back to competing in the near future.
